This will be similar to Euro 2008, which we will be going according to the points system.

Competitors will be split into 2 groups. The top half of each group will proceed to the Winner Pool while the bottom half of each group will proceed to the Loser Pool.
There will be 3 matches daily but competitors can ONLY place up to 2 picks per days - the 2 picks can be from the same match.

Competitors are encourage to participate in all the matches but this is not compulsory.

"Try"
Try is a weasel word. "Well, I'll try," some people say. It's a cop-out. They're just giving you lip service when they probably have no real intention of doing what you ask. Remember what Yoda says to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: "Do or do not--there is no try." Take Yoda's advice. Give it your all when you attempt something. And if it doesn't work, start over.

Put passion into your work and give it your best effort, so you can know that you did all you could to make it happen. So if the outcome you were expecting didn't come to fruition, it's not because you didn't do everything you could to make it happen. It just wasn't the right time for it or it wasn't meant to be.

"Whatever"
This word is a trusted favorite of people who want to dismiss you, diminish what you say or get rid of you quickly. "Whatever," they will say as an all-purpose response to your earnest request. It's an insult and a verbal slap in the face. It's a way to respond to a person without actually responding. When you say whatever after another person has said his or her piece, you have essentially put up a wall between the two of you and halted any progress in communicating. It's a word to avoid.

"Maybe" and "I don't know"
People will sometimes avoid making a decision and hide behind words and phrases like "maybe" and "I don't know." There's a difference between legitimately not knowing something and using words like these as excuses. Sometimes during a confrontation people will claim not to know something or offer the noncommittal response "maybe," just to avoid being put on the spot. "If"
Projects depend on everyone doing his or her part. People who use if are usually playing the blame game and betting against themselves. They like to set conditions, rather than assuming a successful outcome. People who rely on conditional responses are fortifying themselves against potential failure. They will say, "If Bob finishes his part, then I can do my part." They're laying the groundwork for a "no fault" excuse and for not finishing their work.

There are always alternatives, other routes and ways to get the job done. Excuse makers usually have the energy of a slug, the vision of Mr. Magoo and the spine of a jellyfish. You don't want them on your mountain climbing team up K-2 or Mount Everest.

"Yes, but ..."
This is another excuse. You might give your team members suggestions or solutions and they come back to you with "Yes, but . . ." as a response. They don't really want answers, help, or solutions. You need to call the "Yes, but . . ." people out on their avoidance tactic by saying something like: "You know, Jackie, every time I offer you a suggestion you say, 'Yes, but . . . ,' which makes me think you don't really want to solve this problem. That's not going to work. If you want to play the victim, go right ahead, but I'm not going to allow you to keep this up and I may have to report you." After a response like that, you can be assured that the next words you hear will not be, "Yes, but . . ."!

"I guess ..."
This is usually said in a weak, soft-spoken, shoulder-shrugging manner. It's another attempt to shirk responsibility--a phrase is only muttered when people half agree with you, but want to leave enough leeway to say, "Well, I didn't really know. . . . I was only guessing." If you use this phrase, cut it out of your vocabulary.

"We'll see ..."
How many times did we hear our parents say this? We knew they were buying time, avoiding a fight or confrontation or really saying no. It's better to be decisive and honest by saying, "I need more information. Please present your case or send me the data--both pro and con--so I can make an informed decision." That way the interested parties will contribute to an in-depth, well-researched "verdict."

One statement one conclusion that is we all gonna be perished either in our time or in the next 1 or 2 generation.

If time travel is true? lets think..in a view of human living million years ago can time travel to and forth our time let say year ranging from 1000 BC till now. Not we travel back to past. If the technology millions years ago were to be so advanced then as we know that largest known eruption anywhere on Earth in the last 25 million years caused by Lake Toba the supervolcano in Sumatra, extinction of the dinosaurs and killing most humans then alive and creating a population bottleneck in Central Eastern Africa and India (through DNA tests it has proven and knn sad to say that all modern human origin actually come from Africa region) that affected the genetic inheritance of all humans today. By putting all this together we can think that millions years ago, human technology could be 100 times more advance than in our Modern days. Gods are angry that humans are destroying the mother nature with airships, space cars which exhaust all the natural scenery. Gods then demands a reboot. After the mass destruction of the supervolcano, our surviving forefathers maybe telling their sons not to have any advancement in technology so that it would not be destroying our mother nature causing mass destruction problems. If GOD makes human and they would want their model to be perfect. Therefore of a perfect model it means that we would be using 100% of our brain all the time. But nowadays most human only uses 5% of our brain, Einstein only 10%. Why? From our story here million years ago humans actually able to use 100% of their brain they are super intellectual so they can build spacecrafts or spacecars and time travels but as after the genetically changes or psychologically changes (now put yourself in their shoes at that time if you experience such a dramatic event you will not ki siao meh? brain malfunction meh?) caused by super volcano eruption our brain usage capacity maybe drop to only 1%. This section is one of the most important sections you will ever read about BETTING.

Why is it important? Well, we are in the business of making money, and in order to make money we have to learn how to manage it. Ironically, this is one of the most overlooked areas in BETTING. Many PUNTER are just anxious to get right into BETTING with no regards to their total account size. They simply determine how much they can stomach to lose in a single BET and hit the “ENTER” button. There’s a term for this type of investing….it’s called GAMBLING!

When you BET without money management rules, you are in fact gambling. You are not looking at the long term return on your investment. Instead you are only looking for that “jackpot”. Money management rules will not only protect us, but they will make us very profitable in the long run. If you don’t believe me, and you think that “gambling” is the way to get rich, then consider this example:

People go to Las Vegas all the time to gamble their money in hopes to win a big jackpot, and in fact, many people do win. So how in the world, are casino’s still making money if many individuals are winning jackpots? The answer is that while even though people win jackpots, in the long run, casino’s are still profitable because they rake in more money from the people that don’t win. That is where the term “the house always wins” comes from.

The truth is that casinos are just very rich statisticians. They know that in the long run, they will be the ones making the money—not the gamblers. Even if Joe Schmoe wins $100,000 jackpot in a slot machine, the casinos know that there will be 100 more gamblers who WON’T win that jackpot and the money will go right back in their pockets.

This is a classic example of how statisticians make money over gamblers. Even though both lose money, the statistician, or casino in this case, knows how to control their losses. Essentially, this is how money management works.If you learn how to control your losses, you will have a chance at being profitable.

You want to be the rich statistician…NOT the gambler because in the long run, you want to “always be the winner.”

So how do you become this rich statistician instead of a loser?

Drawdown and Maximum Drawdown?
So we know that money management will make us money in the long run, but now we’d like to show you the other side of things. What would happen if you didn’t use money management rules?
Consider this example:
Let’s say you have a $100,000 and you lose $50,000. What percentage of your account have you lost? The answer is 50%. Simple enough. Now, what percentage of that $50,000 do you have to make in order to get back to your original $100,000? It’s not 50%--you’d have to make back 100% of your $50,000 to get back to your original $100,000. This is called drawdown. For this example, we would’ve had a 50% drawdown.
The point of that little illustration is that it is very easy to lose money and a lot harder to make it back. We know you’re saying to yourself, “I’m not going to lose 50% of my account in one BET.” Well we would certainly hope not!
However, what if you lost 3, 4, or even 10 BETs in a row? That couldn’t possibly happen to you, right? (Sarcasm used) You have a BETTING system that wins 70% of the time, so there is NO way you could lose 10 BETs in a row. (Even more sarcasm used)
Well, while you may have a good system, consider this example:
In BETTING, we are always looking for an edge. That is the whole reason why PUNTER develop systems. A BETTING system that is 70% profitable sounds like a very good edge to have. But just because your BETTING system is 70% profitable, does that mean for every 100 BETs you make, you will win 7 out of every 10?
Losing Streak
Not necessarily! How do you know which 70 out of those 100 BETs will be winners?
The answer is that you don’t. You could lose the first 30 BETs in a row and win the remaining 70. That would still give you a 70% profitable system, but you have to ask yourself, “Would you still be in the game if you lost 30 BETs in a row?”
This is why money management is so important. No matter what system you use, you will eventually have a losing streak. Even professional poker players who make their living through poker go through horrible losing streaks, and yet they still end up profitable.
The reason is that the good poker players practice money management because they know that they will not win every tournament they play. Instead, they only risk a small percentage of their total bankroll so that they can survive those losing streaks.
This is what you must do as a PUNTER. Only risk a small percentage of your “bankroll” so that you can survive your losing streaks. Remember that if you practice strict money management rules, you will become the casino and in the long run, “you will always win.”

Successful PUNTER GUIDE

This lesson teaches you how to avoid self-sabotage and attain the winning mental attitude required to become a successful PUNTER.

Taking responsibility

Successful PUNTER believe that they are the only ones who can influence their BETTING outcomes. In contrast, the unsuccessful PUNTER believes in luck, or blames the KT or the market when things go wrong.

The successful PUNTER does not base his or her self worth on whether their account is up or down for the day. When something doesn't go to plan, the successful PUNTER uses it as a learning opportunity, but does not necessarily abandon their system since he or she is realistic about losses.

Most of all, the successful PUNTER realises that there is no-one else to blame, and that the individual PUNTER must accept all credit and responsibility. There is sometimes a negative view to this, but accepting responsibility also means being able to take the credit for success. When a PUNTER has a proven profitable system, on balance, this means that success will be the norm.

Traits of successful and unsuccessful PUNTER

Successful PUNTER don't have access to better information.

Their edge is mental: decisiveness, ability to be comfortable with uncertainty and responsibility for their own BETTING outcomes. They transcend the focus on money with attendant emotions of greed and fear, and see BETTING as a challenge and a game.

Losing PUNTER typically wait for confirmation from others before they act. They do not use a tested model, but instead try to second guess the market and BET by the seat of their pants. They don't manage risk or use stop losses and have unrealistic profit targets. When they lose, they typically look for someone to blame and avoid responsibility for their own actions.

The BETTING market is not the place to find out what type of person you are, but will quickly and ruthlessly reveal your true character and expose your limitations. Hopefully you will do the homework of working on your psyche before starting to BET.

Self sabotage

Self sabotage is when an PUNTER unconsciously acts against their own best interest, and sabotages their opportunity for success. This is often very deep rooted, and stems from low self esteem.

Since BETTING offers an opportunity for financial success and the associated rewards, the unsuccessful PUNTER feels that they don't deserve success. Alternatively, when they do experience some success they may find this an uncomfortable change of circumstances - for example they may feel more comfortable relating to people on their own financial plane.

Whilst having an outward desire for change, they have an inward desire to remain the same. This leads to poor BETTING performance, because the PUNTER unconsciously sabotages their own BETTING in order to avoid change. The way to eliminate self sabotage is to resolve the conflict.

The human mind works very quickly but logically, similarly to a computer. Like with a computer, garbage in equals garbage out. To resolve internal conflict, it is necessary to uncover the underlying false beliefs and replace them with new correct beliefs. This is something that a winning PUNTER will spend time doing through reading, introspection, and perhaps working with a psychologist. A losing PUNTER won't do this work.

Managing uncertainty

The BETTING market is inherently unpredictable, and is uncontrollable. It is impossible to make the market do what you want - it is far too big for an individual to control. This means that the PUNTER has to be able to manage significant uncertainty.

Successful PUNTER have an internal locus of control. This means that they believe that they do have control over the outcomes in their lives. Unsuccessful PUNTER believe that external factors change the outcomes, and they have little or no control over the outcomes. Both winning and losing PUNTER face the same market circumstances, but with a different attitude.

Successful PUNTER realise that they can control whether or not they take signals from their system, the TEAM that they will BET, the AMT of their BET and whether or not to enter a market. These variables are what gives the successful PUNTER control in the market. The market itself is not controllable or predictable.

Since unsuccessful PUNTER don't have a BETTING system, they don't have any basis to enter or not enter a particular BET, and no defined exit point. Changing your thinking

Now you know what psychological attributes are needed to successfully BET. How do you develop these? Generally there is no way to develop without practice. In addition, you should test your system in real time. JUST WRITE DOWN WHAT you WANT TO place trades without risking your real money. You can see how the system performs in the real market, rather than just against historical data, and iron out any problems that come up.
8. Don't be afraid to use the work of others
Even if you are developing your own BETTING system, there's no law saying you can't borrow heavily from other systems that you like. You're not trying to reinvent the wheel, you're just looking for a safe and profitable set of BETTING rules that can make you more money than you lose.

Hello all,

Following the aftermath of our Christmas Celebration 2009, I'm inclined to make the following statements:

First and foremost, I'll like to extend the heartiest congratulations to the organising committee as well as all participants for making this year's celebration possible.

By and large, I would say it was a fantastic one, barring minor hiccups here and there, as well as some pre-chalet issues, which personally, I'm unclear of but have heard of.

For myself, I am really very grateful that we had the 2D1N chalet. I haven't been able to spend much time with my friends due to work commitments ever since I started working. I had a really great time making merry, friendly jibes at each other or just simply talk cock within the circle of friends.

Like to extend special thanks to Sky, who doubled up as the Game Master who thought up so many games to keep us all entertained. I really think it's a major effort (and no mean task) on his part to do it, to source and prepare all the necessary materials needed for his games.

To Ah Hong, our main chef, and all others assisting in purchase and preparation of food, of course, without you guys, we will all go hungry. So a Big thank you as well!

To all those who offered transport (to people or food), the chalet being at such a secluded area, for making that extra effort to go around picking people and buying of breakfast/lunch and extra stuff needed last minute.

To Weilun, who bought a Christmas tree specially just for the chalet..

Is there such thing as "kangtao" or surewin tips?

I have seen alot of people debating over the issues of this "kangtao" or surewin tips. In actual fact there"IS" however very few. But why does it fails us when it is surewin. It is because some of these so called kangtao are "false information" released by the smaller bookmakers themselves to balance their balance sheet. For instance EPL match Arsenal vs Chelsea alot of people taking arsenal resulting in imbalance on the amount wagered on chelsea and these smaller bookmakers with nowhere to dump their excessive bets they will released the so called "kangtao" to entice ignorant punters to bet on chelsea to balance up their balance sheets.

Why are there so many "kangtao" or surewin tips for sales ?

I was bewildered why would any one give away a surewin tips at such low rate where they could earn 10 of thousands with it themselves? put youself in his shoes would you??? i must admit there are opportunites in soccerbetting and i would call that an edge with a "higher chances of winning" but to call them a surewin tips is an overated statement unless you are one of the bribed key players or bribed key officials there is still a certainty of losing.

Live matches are often 2 strong team faces each other and they are most likely to be telecast throughout the world. Why? It is because a lot of people likes to bet on sports that they are able to view live especially those recreation punters who gets real kick watching their favourites team play and also big-time soccer punters who bet 30K-50K per match. There is the jalan bet or live betting bet and the half-time bet which make it more interesting and more variety for punters to bet. These live matches are matches where the bookmakers makes lots of money through the vigourish and fixed match. My advise to fresh punters is to bet small betting on live matches and focus more on those non-telecast match. Why? since the non-telecast matches recieved little publicity the bookmakers doesn't mind feeding those new fresh punterse as they knew eventually the money would go back to them as time goes by due to human nature GREED.

How could you tell whether you Bookmaker/runner is trustworthy or dubious?

It is hard to differentiate as it is only by betting over a period of time before you could tell. But common signs includes setting a "high minimum bet" for instance minimum $5k. Unless the person is really someone whom you known for a very long time and you feel you could trust him chances are when you win he is no-where to be found. Common flimsy excuses given includes bookie run away or bookie got arrested. Another common sign is they only open a few matches for punters to bet. Come to think about it if he is really a bookmaker why should he restrict the no. of matches available for bets chances are those are the games he is confident of and would accept all those bets which is opossing him.

Does the bookmaker lose money?

ANS :yes there are times but seldom. Bookmakers lose money when the strong team win throughout the tournamnet eg euro2000 but that is short-term loss. They will continues to win the soccer punters money as long as there are soccer matches. Why? Cause there will be different opionions from different soccer punters just the vigourish/water money alone is able to cover their losses and that is excluding fixed match where they win even more. Another useful tool they are armed with is they understands that all gamblers have a common weakness. They bet bigger and bigger when winning and bets even bigger to chase their loss when losing. In either case it is to the bookmakers edge.

Contary to the belief of many where they think they are winning the bookmakers money , it is the other soccer punters ie, their friend's money whom they are winning. The only way to bust the bookmaker/bookies is not to bet or share part of the pie the bookmaker is having.

Does soccer betting involves luck?

This depends on the " time frame" you set for betting. For instance if you got $5k and you want to turn it in $35k in a "short time frame" of 2 weeks , then i say you requires luck. As asianhandicap is a 50/50 chances of winning it is possible for someone who is new to soccerbetting and is extremly daring and lucky to achieve that. It tooks about 3 bets to win $35k. SPCC, activists laid down outside a major public restroom (WC) last week to protest the continued inhumane abuse and treatment of cockroaches. Alone, SPCC guidelines for killing any cockroach require that you place tiny electrodes on the outer skeletal region just behind the antenna an stun the cockroach, before subjecting them to the traditional squish method. Can you imagine the horror of seeing a giant shoe coming down on you. These abuses must stop. When asked how the cockroaches must feel having electrodes attached to their little bodies and then zapped, Buggsy had no further comments. The debate continues - to squish or not to squish.

last sunday, at around 6pm, HONGnado was the first to reach the 85elves' soccer court, so he sms everyone, "KNN, tell you all 6pm, why you all must always come at 7?" being hot tempered, he need to release some energy, he change into his boot and start jogging around the court.

something strange happen, out of no where suddenly pop out a "CAI" in her lacy sphagetti top and mini skirt, she walk up the staircase, move slowly toward HONGnado, tapped on his shoulder and said "Hey, christiano HONGnado! I heard you are very famous ah? a lot of people know you!"

christiano HONGnado replied shyly and as expected "So So nia..."
the CAI was impressed by his humble attitude. upon seeing her reaction,
HONGnado think in his head "na bai, I must impress this CAI, still got one hour before those kuku come!!!"

HONGnado continue the conversation,"who you want to see, I can make arrangement, no problem at all one, lai lai, tell me?" CAI said "Hmmm... You know Beckham?" HONGnado stopped and thought for awhile...

"Oh.. that one always kick soccer lose to me one ah, can la, so easy" HONGnado pick up his cellphone can called. in a few mins, a helicopter landed on the grass beside the soccer court. and off they go!

So they flew to Hong Kong, and when the plane door opened, WHOA! Red carpet, fireworks, Jackie Chan himself came to receive them. They chatted awhile, had dinner at the WONG JIAO CHA CHAN TING.
The Cai was so happy to see jackie chan and to even have dinner with him. so she decide to reward HONGnado - she turn to face HONGnado, tip toe, place on hand onto HONGnado's shoulder and give HONGnado a wet kiss. It lasted for a few seconds!
HONGnado is into a state of estacy... he cannot think properly anymore... blood was flowing in the wrong direction...

back to the main story!!! (alright, I heard that)

HONGnado continue to be in blur blur state.... then the CAI told HONGnado "Hey, HONGnado... you know... I still don't think you are REALLY... THAT famous la. I want to meet one last person, then I'll believe. I want to meet the Pope.

" HONGnado thought for a long time..."
The CAI added "See? See? You're not THAT famous are you?, if you bring me to see the POPE, what you want to see also can!!!"

I am sure everyone know what is HONGnado's reaction.

HONGnado said "really ah, you say one hor, dun later see the pope liao, you dun let me see see see. " So they flew to the Holy See, went to the Vatican Square, but they were met by hundreds and thousands of worshippers.

HONGnado said "Ya... I was right. Today's one of their festivals." Ferguson said "Oh come on... you obviously don't know the Pope." HONGnado thought awhile... then said "How about this? If I appear together with the Pope up there, will that count?" The CAI said OK. So HONGnado disappeared into the crowd.

20 minutes later, the balcony door opened. Lo and behold: Pope Benedict appeared.... with HONGnado! Both were waving to the estatic crowd. HONGnado looked down, but was shocked to see paramedics attending to the CAI, who fainted.

He rushed down, then the CAI just regained her consciousness, he reached for HONGnado's hand and said "You will never believe what just happened.

I waited 20 minutes for you, you finally appeared at the balcony with Pope Benedict,

that's when everyone shouted : who's the ANG MO standing next to HONGnado?"

Jack decided to go Perth with his buddy, Neo..

So they reach Perth, rent a mini van and headed north.

After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible storm.

They pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady in her sleeping attire who answered the door if they could spend the night.

'I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed,' she explained. 'I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house.'

'Don't worry,' Jack said. 'We'll be happy to sleep in the farm house, and we will be gone in the morning' The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the farm house and settled in for the night.

Come morning, the weather had cleared, and Jack & Neo got on their way.

They enjoyed a great holiday in Perth.

But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney.

It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the Perth Trip.

He dropped in on his friend Neo and asked, 'Neo, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north about 9 months ago?'

'Yes, I do.' said Neo

'Did you, er, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?'

IMH has an old lady who wears black everyday, carries a black umbrella
and squats @ the entrance to the IMH everyday without fail, rain or shine.
The doctor wanted to administer treatment for her and decided to start
by understanding her behaviour.
So, the doctor also wear black and carries a black umbrella; squatted
outside together just next to her, rain or shine, everyday without
fail.
So...days goes by...the two of them squatted side-by-side w/o a single
exchange of words..for one solid month...
One fine day..the old lady finally broke the silence and asked the
doctor: "Err...Excuse me! Are you also a mushroom?"

A nurse saw a patient writing a letter... She got curious and went to

Two patients escape from the IMH. They climbed up a tree and one of
them fell from the tree and started rolling on the ground.
After a while, the patient rolling shouted to the top: "Hey! How come

One patient visited the doctor: "Doc...how? I think I'm a chicken since
I was born..."

Doctor: "Woah! that's very serious...Why do you only come and seek
treatment now?"

One truck driver was doing his usual delivery to IMH.
He discovered a flat tyre when he was about to go home after unloading
the stuff.

He jacked up the truck and took the flat tyre down.
When he was about to fix on the new tyre, he accidentally dropped all
the bolts into the drain.

The truck driver was very sad as he can't fished the bolts up; started
to panick.

Coincidentally, one patient walk past and asked the driver what
happened.

The driver thought to himself, since there's nothing much he can do, he
told the patient the whole incident.

The patient nonchantly replied: "can't even fix such a simple
problem...no wonder you are destined to be a truck driver..." he goes on
explaining:

"You just have to take one bolt each from the other 3 tyres and fix it
onto this tyre. Drive to the nearest workshop and replace the missing
ones"

The driver was very impressed and asked "You're so smart but why do you
stay in IMH?"

Patient replied: "I stay here because I'm crazy not STUPID!

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school..

His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him...

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.' They really should get lives. ' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!' There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football
with my friends. He said yes.. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! ' He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.. When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.
I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.
He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship..

Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days.

I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.

' Thanks,' he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began

'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.

Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends....

I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.

I am going to tell you a story.'

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met.

He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.

He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.

'Thankfully, I was saved.

My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable..'

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.

I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Normally he will have to stay back for OT and in the evening, all the lifts will be stopped due to security reasons. Whenever he wanted to leave, he would have to call the security guard to activate the lift from the ground floor to his level and the uncle will send the lift up.

After some time, he left the company and joined another company where his office was also very high up in the building. He thought to himself that he would need to get the security guard’s number to call when he was working OT just like when he was working in his previous company.

Then came the day where he had to work OT for the first time at the new place. He stayed back till midnight to complete a project and when he was about to leave, he called the security guard to send the lift up. After packing up he went out to the lobby to wait for the lift.

He waited and waited. 10 mins passed but the lift was still not up. He waited for another 10 mins and call the security guard again.

Ah Tong : Hello Uncle ah, have you sent the lift up ?
Security Guard : Yeah sent up just now already.
Ah Tong : No leh, I’ve been waiting for 20 mins liao leh.
Security Guard : No meh ? Okok, I send up again.

Another 5 minutes went by. No lift came up. Ah Tong got worried. He was the last person to leave and there's no one else around. He called the uncle on his handphone again.

Ah Tong : Er... Uncle ah, you sure you sent the lift up ?
Security Guard : Yeah I sent it up twice liao leh.
Ah Tong : But I see the lifts all on the first floor leh !
Security Guard : Aiyoh. Never mind. I take the lift up and come find u.

Again, Ah Tong waited. 5 minutes passed but none of the lifts were moving. Then suddenly, his handphone rang. The uncle voice was on the other side of the line sounding very weird and panicky.
Security Guard : Eh.. Where are you ?! I am here already but I cannot find you leh !

All this while Ah Tong was staring at the display of the lifts. All the lifts were still at level 1 and yet the security guard said that he is already on the same floor. Ah Tong though to himself, “Shit! Something is not right !”. Feeling very spooked and scared already, Ah Tong straight away ran to the stairs and dashed down the building.

When he reached the ground level, he went to the security counter and he found out that . . . . .

He had actually called the old security guard in the building of his ex-company and not the new security guard of his new office . . . . . -_-"

He had overworked and was very tired and blur.

Feeling very embarrassed, he didn’t even call back to explain to the old security guard from the building of his ex-company.

Poor security guard, he must have been the one who actually freaked out going all the way up and seeing no one there !!!

Hohoho, this is a brand new year. I hereby wish everyone love truly, laugh uncontrollably and be happy, helpful, healthy always.

Everyone of us was given a lucky draw to grab one "scratch and win" card. Eddie got the biggest voucher - $28 bucks off if you spend >$56 in a single receipt. We think might as well dun give, cos the food is CANNOT MAKE IT!

This place is great, next time we should go there to watch Man U match! somemore, there is pool table just right beside us and it is air-con, swee swee! Opened bottle of chivas and martel, and we manage to clear everything with zhong ji mi ma and finger guessing game.

FOr the coming christmas eve, we will be holding a chalet.

once again, it is the season of "forgive and forget". so for the past one year, if anyone has offended you or cause any unhappiness to you, use only the time from now till 12am to remember and after that, throw it behind you and move on.
Initially the plan was to have dinner at mongolian buffet, and eat and eat and eat till movie start. But, guess rats, pig, cow, dragon, rabbit are not really lucky in the year of RATS, a problem occur as we could not reserve seats at the Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ due to shortage of seats.

The last minute back up plan was --- we ended up dining at shokudo japanese food bazaar (thank nicky for the recommendation). Almost everyone reach earlier than expected except ... ... hahaha. so, everyone watch as he slowly bite his food. after dinner, we had a board discussion to vote "WAT TO DO AFTER DINNER BEFORE START". Some say walk walk, some say sing k, some say play texas, some say go pub, some say go play games.

In the end, we went mind cafe. upon arriving, the place was crowded, we know the chances of getting a seat was tough, and as we expected, there was no room to accomodate all of us. Bo pian liao lo, we are being forced into parklane to play arcade, snooker, lan. I think, guess, suppose we should be the oldest in the arcade. hahaha.

"bedtime stories" can be considered one of the "please do not throw your money" movie. everything was bad except for that cute little big eye creature which I dun remember the name.

last of all, we had our gift exchange by playing " ZHONG JI MI MA"

Your house is too big: When you buy a house that is bigger than you can afford or need, you end up spending extra money on longer debt payments, increased taxes, higher upkeep and more things to fill it. Some people will try to argue that the increased value of the house makes it a good investment, but the truth is that unless you are willing to downgrade your living standards, which most people are not, it will never be a liquid asset or money that you can ever use and enjoy.

You fail to take advantage of opportunities: There has probably been more than one occasion where you heard about someone who has made it big and thought to yourself, "I could have thought of that." There are plenty of opportunities if you have the will and determination to keep your eyes open.

The Frogs

A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs! The farmer replied, 'There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs - millions of them. They all croak all night long and they are about to make me crazy!' So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant, five hundred at a time for the next several weeks.

The first week, the farmer returned to the restaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, 'Well... where are all the frogs?' The farmer said, 'I was mistaken. There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!'

Moral of the Story:

Next time you hear somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's probably just a couple of noisy frogs. Also remember that problems always seem bigger in the dark. Have you ever lay in your bed at night worrying about things which seem almost overwhelming like a million frogs croaking? Chances are pretty good that when the morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.>>

The Turtles

A turtle family decided to go on a picnic. The turtles, being naturally slow about things, took seven years to prepare for their outing. Finally the turtle family left home looking for a suitable place. During the second year of their journey they found a place ideal for them at last!

For about six months they cleaned the area, unpacked the picnic basket, and completed the arrangements. Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt would be a disaster, they all agreed. After a lengthy discussion, the youngest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was the fastest of the slow moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, and wobbled in his shell. He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eat until he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left.

Three years passed and the little turtle had not returned. Five years...six years... then on the seventh year of his absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announced that he was going to eat and begun to unwrap a sandwich. >>

At that point the little turtle suddenly popped out from behind a tree shouting, 'See! I knew you wouldn't wait. Now I am not going to go get the salt.'

Moral of the Story:

Some of us waste our time waiting for people to live up to our expectations. We are so concerned about what others are doing that we don't do anything ourselves

The Pretty Lady

Once upon a time a big monk and a little monk were traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged bridge and couldn't cross the river. The big monk offered to carry her across the river on his back. The lady accepted. >>

The little monk was shocked by the move of the big monk. 'How can big brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?' thought the little monk. But he kept quiet. The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed unhappily. When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her. >>

All along the way for several miles, the little monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making up all kinds of acussations about big monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination to explain his situation. >>

Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. 'How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is very pretty? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite The big monk looked surprised and said, 'I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along?' >>

Moral of the Story:

This very old Chinese Zen story reflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous. >>

But like the little monk, we are not willing to let them go away. We keep on carrying the baggage of the 'pretty lady' with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why? Simply because we are not willing to put down or let go of the baggage of the 'pretty lady'. We should let go of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river, that is, after the unpleasant event is over. This will immediately remove all our agonies. There is no need to be further hurt by the unpleasant event after it is over.
